This project involved the construction of a 30,000 s.f. addition and the renovation of an existing 70,000 s.f. elementary school building that serves children in kindergarten through third grade. The addition includes classrooms, an elevator and kitchen/dining facilities. The façade design of the addition integrates the surrounding neighborhood’s large single-family homes with the existing 1950 school building.

The Bank Street College of Education includes a k-6 school for children. The Children’s Library serves the school and functions in conjunction with the college. The library project is part of a multi-phased re-stack of the existing 1950s building. The children’s library is shown in the drawing below.
