The Center for Environmental Research and Conservation, on the Morningside campus of Columbia University, is an 18,000 sq. ft. facility that occupies three floors. Originally a typical doubled-loaded plan, the center spine of the space was opened to create a sun-lit circulation space that doubles as a lounge and meeting area.
